Cap Royal takes its name from the Cordouan lighthouse, the oldest in France. Made by the prestigious Château Pichon Baron Longueville in the Médoc, this is modern Bordeaux, with plenty of Merlot in the blend. The wine is smooth and silky with an elegant palate and not too tannic. The palate has ripe black fruit flavours, savoury tobacco aromas and vanilla notes from the oak ageing, finishing with a firm, dry palate.
